blast from the past

When I was a sophomore in high school I made a very sweet friend, Angelique. We met when we competed for Miss California Teen USA (something I only did once FYI). We have kept in touch over the years and just recently she invited me to her baby shower at the L.A. zoo. The last time I saw her was at Makissa's baby shower (6 years ago!). It was a great trip out to LA to let the kids see some SWEET animals, and also to see an old friend.

Truly is almost 4 Months

I have about 14 seconds to post before Truly starts screaming her head off (because I put her down... I know, I am SUCH a mean mom...)
She is getting so big so fast! Some things we love about Truly at 4 months:

She is chubby! We love the chub
She loves to hold her toes
She just rolled over from her tummy to her back TODAY
She tries to eat your face, while you are holding her
She still eats... ALL NIGHT LONG
She is very ticklish and laughs when we pull her clothes off (she thinks we are ticking her)
She screams if we put her down (yes she is screaming because this post has taken me long than 14 seconds)
She loves to do crunches (she is going to have some amazing abs soon)

THE FIRST TOOTH!

Our sweet little baby lost her first tooth! Here is her story:
One night about 3 weeks ago, while helping Kissa with her homework, I looked down at her writing and saw a white "something" behind her teeth. I made her open her mouth and there, out of nowhere, was her adult tooth already out! This is how we discovered her front tooth was loose (really it did happen over night, I am sure). So I showed Makissa, so expertly, how to wiggle baby teeth. She then took my advise, threw it out the window, and did it her own way! I, being the caring mother that I am, helped her every night after brushing, wiggle that tooth. FINALLY, after three LONG weeks of wiggling that tooth it came out this morning (with a little help from mom, "Let me just try and wiggle it for one second Makissa, I will be fast." Next thing you know, BAM - it popped out.
She was so thrilled and is so excited for the tooth fairy to come (I suspect our tooth fairy might be a little cheap).

We then had to place the tooth in a plastic bag and call grammy, nana and papa, and Cherisse, to tell them all about it (sorry for the rest of you, I guess in times of great excitement, she doesn't think about you!).

Brett is 30!!

Brett turned 30 this year! It's hard to believe Brett has now reached the big 3-0. There are lots of positives to this and I would like to point out a few:

1. He still has a full head of carpet hair (love it!)
2. He doesn't have any gray hairs (however this may quickly change due to the 4th child!)
3. He has earned his MBA
4. He has 4 beautiful children
5. He owns a home
6. He married up (or am I mixing that up?! As Momma P says, "Briette, you really Married up."
7. He has perfected imitation "Burl whistling" (extremely different, I suspect, than real Burl whistling).
8. He has 3 dogs (which he lets sleep in the bed every night.... because he adores them....(joke).
9. He is still married (MIRACLE!!)
10. He is a champion boxer...duh


We celebrated by bringing him cookies and balloons at work, taking him out to lunch (ya Wendy's, way to go), opening presents, and BJ's for dinner!

Yes, we are crafters....

While all my children were home with flu, (this thankfully excludes Truly), we passed the time making valentines crafts. The previous night Brett started puking, then it moved to kissa (chunks all over the carpet and tile downstairs), then it moved to Kash (pizza all over my upstairs carpet). Lets just say our carpet cleaner was put to very good use.
At least it was fast!

Kissa also surprised us with a valentines present she worked hours on!
